Fund Budgeted Spent Budgeted vs. Spent

About

Every year Macoupin County government budgets and spends around $20 million. The services the County provides with that money effect each citizen, but far too often citizens and taxpayers are left asking ‘How exactly is my money being spent?’

This budget transparency tool was created to answer that question. It gives visitors the ability to break down the County’s budget from the comfort of their living room. Over 20 years are included and broken down to individual line items like salaries and benefits, supplies and travel. Visitors can also use the ‘Who Controls It?’ feature to see how each Elected Official or Department Heads’ overall budget has changed over time.

2020 Fiscal Year data

You’ll notice there is no data on what’s been spent for anything after August 31, 2020. The data from this site was pulled directly from the county audits at the end of the fiscal year. New data won’t be added until after the next fiscal year ends in August and the audit is completed, usually in the following March.

You can view the Checkbook Summaries given to the County Board each month to see the same information in a PDF.
